As November comes to a close, and the weather gets chillier, December starts to approach. The leaves begin to fall off trees, and temperatures start to drop, signaling fall has exited, and winter has begun. Here I have compiled a list of eight activities that are perfect for this season. Some of these can be done indoors, while others, outdoors. I hope this list I curated gives you a way to have fun and make the most of your winter. Stay warm and Happy Holidays.
1
Build A Snowman
Building a snowman is a fun way to make use of a snow day or any day that involves snow. You can embrace the snow, unleash your creativity, and live life to the fullest. Doing this alongside family and or friends can help cement priceless memories. Have fun, and make sure to bundle up and stay warm while doing this. Depending on where you live, it can be very frigid.
2
Go Sledding
Sledriding is another notable way to make use of this chilly season. You can take in the winter scenery and enjoy the nature that is present. Going with family and friends is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and be together. Remember this can be a risky activity so be sure to pick an area that is not treacherous. Picking a hill with a gentle slope and flat area at the end of it can help ensure a safe sledding experience.
3
Go Skiing
Skiing is a wonderful pursuit to do this wintery season. Skiing is a great way to get outside, and gain physical exercise. Studies have shown that skiing is a benefit towards your cardiovascular health, fitness, strength, balance, and more. It has also been proven that skiing reduces the levels of the body’s stress hormones resulting in uplifting a person’s mood. Keep in mind this is also a dangerous activity, so make sure you are careful. Following the rules and ensuring that you are fully equipped with the proper attire will help make your participation in this much safer.
4
Ice Skating
Going ice skating is a delightful venture for the winter season. This activity is a great way to relax and feel good. Ice skating not only raises your mood, it also impacts your health. It can improve your balance, agility, and coordination, while also allowing you to burn about 200 calories per hour, making it a great activity to lose or maintain weight. However, with this activity can come some risks. Not being careful enough can lead to accidents and or serious injuries. So make sure to be fully equipped and prepared.
5
Make Paper Snowflakes
Making paper snowflakes is a noteworthy activity for this holiday season. This craft is an extraordinary way to embrace your creativity, and try something you maybe haven’t done or thought of before. Paper snowflakes are one of the easiest and most affordable ways to decorate for the holidays. So if you’re on a budget, or just want to make something homemade, this craft is perfect for you. Involving your family and friends in this project is a great way to make long lasting memories and make the most of the season.
6
Make Hot Chocolate
Making hot chocolate is another splendid recreation to do this winter. It is a wonderful way to stay warm indoors as well as being a delicious treat for the holidays. Making cocoa also has its benefits, such as improving mood and symptoms of depression. It is an easy and really affordable way to spend this winter season. Spending time with friends and family, getting cozy, and having hot chocolate, is the perfect way to spend a cold winter’s day.
7
Knitting
Knitting is a spectacular activity to do during this cold season. It is a great way to occupy your time, as well as try a hobby you haven’t tried before. Knitting can reduce stress and anxiety, as well as relaxing your mind and keeping you at peace. This hobby is also not hard to learn, but can have an endless amount of possibilities. By watching beginner Youtube videos, or other tutorials, you can create something you intend to make or something of your own.
8
Bake
Baking is another awesome task to do this season. You can make cookies, cupcakes, brownies, banana bread, and more; the options are limitless. This pastime is a great way to embrace your innovation and unleash your culinary side. There is nothing better than baking the endless possibilities of delicious food on a cold, frosty day.
We have come to the conclusion of my list. Hopefully, this finds you an activity to pursue. These are marvelous ways to make use of the winter and keep occupied. Remember to be safe and stay safe. Also, remember to stay warm and Happy Holidays.
