Hamden High School Extends Summer Vacation

by Morgan Collins

The Board of Education has recently announced this past Friday that summer vacation will begin two months early. This extended summer vacation will begin at the beginning of this year’s spring break, occurring in just three weeks. The town decided to implement this calendar change due to exceptional academic work being put forth by the student body. Additionally, due to the popularity of the many end of year activities such as chalkfest, the senior trip, and graduation; these activities will also be moved to a closer date. This will allow students to begin their summer vacations while also participating in their beloved events. The new plan has been welcomed gleefully by the student body. One 10th grader in the school community said that this is the best event to occur in her school career and is a memory that she will hold onto forever. I, like most students, despise the slow school days the spring season can offer. With this new plan, everyone can sit back, relax, and enjoy their increased summer vacation.
