This year, the administration is piloting a rotating schedule. The first three periods shift based on the day, with periods 4-8 staying the same, with A-days being 1-2-3, B-days being 2-3-1, and C-days being 3-1-2. D-days are every Friday, being 1st period, 2nd period, a 20-minute advisory, and then 3rd period. This was put into place to reduce tardiness by distributing it more evenly and mitigating the lost instructional time per class due to tardiness. Also, some educators wanted to have their classes at different times as the students would be more alert, according to Principal Jackson. To further explain, due to labs and lunch waves, the rotating schedule only has 4 days leading the same day to be repeated in a given week. A week could have two of any given day (eg. A, B, C, A, then D). Also, half-days will also have rotating schedules. In addition, If there is a day off, then the following day is the next day in the rotation (eg. if the day before a day off is an A-day, then the day after the day off would be a B-day.)
