On November 23, 2012 Hamden High School and Notre Dame High School stepped foot on the Hamden field to partake in the 62nd Annul Green Bowl.

The team stepped on the field minus two key players, Derek “Deuce” Atkinson and Robert “Rob” Garriet due to “an off-the-field incident”, head coach Tony Martone said. When asked about their injured team mates, some of the players said that they were “upset” about not being able to play with their teammates.

A large population of the Hamden student body arrived to cheer on the Green Dragons. The Dragons stepped out on the field ready, determined, and focused.

The Green Dragons responded to Notre Dame’s opening scoring drive with a touchdown of their own. Quarterback Eli Bonadies rushed for a 1-yard score. Hamden was unable to convert the two-point conversion and trailed 7-6. Hamden played a strong game however they ended the forth quarter 42-12. LeAndre Clark stated that “we will bring everything we brought today and more next year.”

Senior Nick Dickerson stated that “I will miss playing with my team and I wish them all the best of luck next year.  Senior, Derek Atkinson, made it known to his team and others that he was “saddened” that he could not play in the Green Bowl.
