Now is the time when seniors are beginning to apply to colleges, so I asked the Class of 2013 “Did Hamden High School prepare you for college?”

Senior, Nandi Swinton-Newton stated “yes” with the exception of gym. She enjoyed the variety of classes that Hamden exposed her to. She felt however that Hamden should take more time in planning the transition into college with freshmen and sophomores. She stated that they should explain the importance to them more.

Noelle Leipold stated that she did not believe that Hamden prepared her for college. She stated that they needed to be more organized to prepare students.

Mike Baez said, “Some aspects were beneficial like the college prep classes but they ultimately need to take more steps to help prepare the students for the transition from high school to college.”
