Season three of this superhero show is set to premiere October 4th at 8 pm on the CW, which in Connecticut is WCCT. In case you have never seen the show, it stars Grant Gustin (known for his role as Sebastian Smythe on Glee) as The Flash and goes through his journey being the “Scarlet Speedster.”
Seasons one and two both show Barry Allen (The Flash) dealing with the loss of his mother. Due to some developments that took place in the season two finale, the show may be going back to focusing on the aspect of what makes a family. Barry Allen was adopted because his mom was murdered and his father was taken to jail. He goes on to live with his friend’s father, Joe West, who is played by Jesse L. Martin. While living with Joe, Barry falls in love with his daughter, Iris West, portrayed by Candice Patton. Iris and Barry become the main relationship of the series and have been dubbed Westallen by their fans.
The third season will focus on the development of their romantic relationship, as they finally admitted their feelings for each other in the previous season. It has also been revealed that the first episode of the new season is titled “Flashpoint” and will focus on the comic book arc of the same name. The official trailer for the upcoming season shows Barry dealing with the consequences of messing with the time stream and for the rest of his actions in the season two finale.
Along the way, Kid Flash is also introduced as the son of Joe and brother of Iris. During the summer, photos were released of actor Keiynan Lonsdale in his Kid Flash outfit.

As the Flashpoint storyline throws everything into chaos, Harry Potter‘s Tom Felton (AKA Malfoy) also joins the cast as Julian Dorn, a CSI agent who works with Barry and has suspicions about who he is. Matt Letscher will also be returning as the Reverse Flash, who was the main villain in season one. The return of the Reverse Flash will cause tensions to rise, leaving the writers with many directions for the show to go in.
Over the years, The CW has aired numerous superhero series. They currently have Supergirl on Mondays, The Flash on Tuesdays, Arrow on Wednesdays, and Legends of Tomorrow on Thursdays. Greg Berlanti, the producer of these shows, has confirmed two crossover episodes already. During December, there will be a mega-crossover between all 4 shows and a musical-crossover between The Flash and Supergirl around the eleventh episode of both shows. This season looks action packed and filled to the brim with excitement, and I’m looking forward to October 4th. If you are new to the show altogether, or want to introduce it to your friends, season one is currently on Netflix and season two arrives on October 4th.
