HHS Girls’ Soccer: Hamden vs. Jonathan Law

By: Jordan Smith

At the beginning of the second half of Monday’s soccer game, spectators roared when midfielder Emma Twohill tied Jonathan Law 1-1 with a score from outside the goalie box. However, the game suddenly took another direction when Emma was injured and had to be taken out.

Fellow midfielder Katie Vitas played hard and never gave up.

Repeatedly, defense Bella Collins fought her way to the ball regaining possession with a strong kick and returning it to the offense.

Unfortunately, the story has a disappointing end this time. Injuries to goalie Paige Campbell and others shrunk the number of experienced players on the field. Freshman Kaitlyn Nutcher stood in and gained valuable experience, but this time Hamden lost 5-1 to Jonathan Law.
