There was a girl who fell in love with a fire hydrant
The red and silver tip
There was a girl who kissed a fire hydrant
And fell so ill, so sick
There was a girl who missed her fire hydrant
While she spent her dying days
There was a girl who wished her fire hydrant
Could save her from Earth’s grace
There was a boy who loved a tree
He rustled in its leaves
There was a boy who hugged a tree
And lost his loving ears
There was a boy who praised a tree
But never heard again
There was a boy who waved at a tree
As he fell on Earth’s descend
The tree fell in love with the hydrant
And the hydrant with the tree
For only they could love each other
Not comfort those who weep
There was a tree who touched a hydrant
And a hydrant who touched a tree
There were the kids who loved the objects
But the objects were never free
